1 Maschil di Davide BEATO colui la cui trasgressione è rimessa, E il cui peccato è coperto!

2 Beato l’uomo a cui il Signore non imputa iniquità, E nel cui spirito non vi è frode alcuna!

3 Mentre io mi son taciuto, le mie ossa si sono invecchiate, Nel mio ruggire di tutto dì.

4 Perciocchè giorno e notte la tua mano era aggravata sopra me, L’umor mio era divenuto simile ad arsure di state. Sela.

5 Io ti ho dichiarato il mio peccato, non ho coperta la mia iniquità, Io ho detto: Io confesserò le mie trasgressioni al Signore; E tu hai rimessa l’iniquità del mio peccato. Sela.

6 Perciò ogni uomo pio ti farà orazione Nel tempo che tu puoi esser trovato; Nel tempo di diluvio di grandi acque, esse non pur perverranno a lui.

7 Tu sei il mio ricetto, tu mi guarderai di distretta, Tu mi circonderai di canti di liberazione. Sela.

8 Io voglio ammaestrarti ed insegnarti la via, Per la quale devi camminare; E consigliarti, avendo l’occhio sopra te.

9 Non siate come il cavallo, nè come il mulo, che sono senza intelletto; La cui bocca conviene frenare con morso e con freno, Altrimenti non si accosterebbero a te.

10 Molti dolori avverranno all’empio; Ma benignità intornierà colui che si confida nel Signore.

11 Rallegratevi nel Signore, e fate festa, o giusti; E giubilate, voi tutti che siete diritti di cuore.

Good News Translation GNT

1 Happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.

2 Happy is the one whom the Lord does not accuse of doing wrong and who is free from all deceit.

3 When I did not confess my sins, I was worn out from crying all day long.

4 Day and night you punished me, Lord; my strength was completely drained, as moisture is dried up by the summer heat.

5 Then I confessed my sins to you; I did not conceal my wrongdoings. I decided to confess them to you, and you forgave all my sins.

6 So all your loyal people should pray to you in times of need; when a great flood of trouble comes rushing in, it will not reach them.

7 You are my hiding place; you will save me from trouble. I sing aloud of your salvation, because you protect me.

8 The Lord says, "I will teach you the way you should go; I will instruct you and advise you.

9 Don't be stupid like a horse or a mule, which must be controlled with a bit and bridle to make it submit."

10 The wicked will have to suffer, but those who trust in the Lord are protected by his constant love.

11 You that are righteous, be glad and rejoice because of what the Lord has done. You that obey him, shout for joy!
