1 Salmo di Davide, servitore del Signore dato al capo de’ Musici IL misfatto dell’empio mi dice dentro al cuore, Ch’egli non ha timore alcuno di Dio davanti agli occhi.

2 Perciocchè egli si lusinga appo sè stesso, Per venire a capo della sua iniquità, che è pur da odiare.

3 Le parole della sua bocca sono iniquità e frode; Egli non ha più intelletto da far bene.

4 Egli divisa iniquità sopra il suo letto; Egli si ferma nella via che non è buona, Egli non abborre il male.

5 O Signore, la tua benignità arriva infino al cielo, E la tua verità infino alle nuvole.

6 La tua giustizia è simile a monti altissimi; I tuoi giudicii sono un grande abisso. O Signore, tu conservi uomini e bestie.

7 O Dio, quanto preziosa è la tua benignità! Perciò i figliuoli degli uomini si riducono sotto l’ombra delle tue ale;

8 Son saziati del grasso della tua Casa; Tu li abbeveri del torrente delle tue delizie.

9 Perciocchè appo te è la fonte della vita; E per la tua luce noi veggiamo la luce.

10 Stendi la tua benignità inverso quelli che ti conoscono, E la tua giustizia inverso quelli che son diritti di cuore.

11 Non vengami addosso il piè del superbo; E la mano degli empi non mi smuova.

12 Ecco là, gli operatori d’iniquità son caduti; Sono stati sospinti, e non son potuti risorgere.

Good News Translation GNT

1 Sin speaks to the wicked deep in their hearts; they reject God and do not have reverence for him.

2 Because they think so highly of themselves, they think that God will not discover their sin and condemn it.

3 Their speech is wicked and full of lies; they no longer do what is wise and good.

4 They make evil plans as they lie in bed; nothing they do is good, and they never reject anything evil.

5 Lord, your constant love reaches the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the skies.

6 Your righteousness is towering like the mountains; your justice is like the depths of the sea. People and animals are in your care.

7 How precious, O God, is your constant love! We find protection under the shadow of your wings.

8 We feast on the abundant food you provide; you let us drink from the river of your goodness.

9 You are the source of all life, and because of your light we see the light.

10 Continue to love those who know you and to do good to those who are righteous.

11 Do not let proud people attack me or the wicked make me run away.

12 See where evil people have fallen. There they lie, unable to rise.
