Psalm 46

1 Cantico, dato al capo de’ Musici, de’ figliuoli di Core, sopra Alamot. IDDIO è nostro ricetto, e forza, Ed aiuto prontissimo nelle distrette.

2 Perciò noi non temeremo, quantunque la terra si tramutasse di luogo, E i monti smossi fosser sospinti in mezzo del mare;

3 E le acque di esso romoreggiassero, e s’intorbidassero; E i monti fossero scrollati dall’alterezza di esso. Sela.

4 Il fiume, i ruscelli di Dio rallegreranno la sua Città. Il luogo santo degli abitacoli dell’Altissimo.

5 Iddio è nel mezzo di lei, ella non sarà smossa; Iddio la soccorrerà allo schiarir della mattina.

6 Le genti romoreggiarono, i regni si commossero; Egli diede fuori la sua voce, la terra si strusse.

7 Il Signore degli eserciti è con noi; L’Iddio di Giacobbe è il nostro alto ricetto. Sela.

8 Venite, mirate i fatti del Signore; Come egli ha operate cose stupende nella terra.

9 Egli ha fatte restar le guerre infino all’estremità della terra; Egli ha rotti gli archi, e messe in pezzi le lance, Ed arsi i carri col fuoco.

10 Restate, e conoscete che io son Dio; Io sarò esaltato fra le genti, Io sarò esaltato nella terra.

11 Il Signore degli eserciti è con noi; L’Iddio di Giacobbe è il nostro alto ricetto. Sela.

Good News Translation GNT

1 God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

2 So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the ocean depths;

3 even if the seas roar and rage, and the hills are shaken by the violence.

4 There is a river that brings joy to the city of God, to the sacred house of the Most High.

5 God is in that city, and it will never be destroyed; at early dawn he will come to its aid.

6 Nations are terrified, kingdoms are shaken; God thunders, and the earth dissolves.

7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

8 Come and see what the Lord has done. See what amazing things he has done on earth.

9 He stops wars all over the world; he breaks bows, destroys spears, and sets shields on fire.

10 "Stop fighting," he says, "and know that I am God, supreme among the nations, supreme over the world."

11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
