1 Protégeme, oh Dios, pues en ti me refugio.

Keep me safe, O God, I've run for dear life to you.
2 Yo dije al SEÑOR: Tú eres mi Señor; ningún bien tengo fuera de ti.

I say to God, "Be my Lord!" Without you, nothing makes sense.
3 En cuanto a los santos que están en la tierra, ellos son los nobles en quienes está toda mi delicia.

And these God-chosen lives all around - what splendid friends they make!
4 Se multiplicarán las aflicciones de aquellos que han corrido tras otro dios; no derramaré yo sus libaciones de sangre, ni sus nombres pronunciarán mis labios.

Don't just go shopping for a god. Gods are not for sale. I swear I'll never treat god-names like brand-names.

My choice is you, God, first and only. And now I find I'm your choice!

You set me up with a house and yard. And then you made me your heir!

The wise counsel God gives when I'm awake is confirmed by my sleeping heart.
8 Al SEÑOR he puesto continuamente delante de mí; porque está a mi diestra, permaneceré firme.

Day and night I'll stick with God; I've got a good thing going and I'm not letting go.
9 Por tanto, mi corazón se alegra y mi alma se regocija; también mi carne morará segura,

I'm happy from the inside out, and from the outside in, I'm firmly formed.

You canceled my ticket to hell - that's not my destination!
11 Me darás a conocer la senda de la vida; en tu presencia hay plenitud de gozo; en tu diestra, deleites para siempre.
