Be merciful to me, my God, for my enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack.
2 Os meus inimigos pressionam-me sem parar;muitos atacam-me arrogantemente.

My adversaries pursue me all day long; in their pride many are attacking me.
3 Mas eu, quando estiver com medo, confiarei em ti.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
4 Em Deus, cuja palavra eu louvo,em Deus eu confio e não temerei.Que poderá fazer-me o simples mortal?

In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
5 O tempo todo eles distorcem as minhas palavras;estão sempre tramando prejudicar-me.

All day long they twist my words; all their schemes are for my ruin.
6 Conspiram, ficam à espreita,vigiam os meus passos,na esperança de tirar-me a vida.

They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life.
7 Deixarás escapar essa gente tão perversa?Na tua ira, ó Deus, derruba as nações.

Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in your anger, God, bring the nations down.
8 Registra, tu mesmo, o meu lamento;recolhe as minhas lágrimas em teu odre;acaso não estão anotadas em teu livro?

Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll — are they not in your record?
9 Os meus inimigos retrocederão,quando eu clamar por socorro.Com isso saberei que Deus está a meu favor.

Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.

In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise—

in God I trust and am not afraid. What can man do to me?
12 Cumprirei os votos que te fiz, ó Deus;a ti apresentarei minhas ofertas de gratidão.

I am under vows to you, my God; I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 Pois me livraste da mortee aos meus pés de tropeçar,para que eu ande diante de Deusna luz que ilumina os vivos.
