Today Pastor Raul continues to explore the unique gifts and blessings of God’s Holy Spirit. You’ll be challenged to honestly evaluate whether you’ve fully accepted the Spirit’s power in your life – recognizing that when He fills you up, you can confidently resist temptation, boldly share your faith, and effectively represent Christ to a watching world. When we, as Christians, ignore the Holy Spirit’s promptings, we end up without any passion in our lives, and with no direction. God has gifts for us that we don’t want to miss out on, but it takes diligence and focus to unwrap all that He has for our lives.
When we receive a gift normally we can’t wait to open it and use it! But today on Sound Doctrine we’ll learn that God has a gift He wants His children to receive… but very sadly many haven’t! It’s the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And we desperately need this to thrive and be all that God wants us to be.
Are you one of the many who have accidently poured the wrong kind of fuel into your car’s gas tank? Of course, a mistake like that is costly, and can ruin your engine. Today on a Daily Walk we run across some people who were trying to operate their lives without being fueled by the Holy Spirit. That’s even more tragic, and problematic. If we want victory in our lives, we need the Holy Spirit and we must live by His power not our own. This was something noticeably missing in the lives of some Ephesians we’ll meet today.
We don’t have to do Christianity alone. When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, He will never leave us alone or let us down. The Holy Spirit drives us, motivates us, and reveals to us our need for His guidance.
