Illustration: Conscience and Guidance

We often say, "Let your conscience be your guide." There are limits to that philosophy. It is possible to deaden the conscience. A recent "Dennis the Menace" comic shows Dennis, sitting on the kitchen cabinet with his hand in the cookie jar. Dennis says to his friend, "My Dad says to listen to my conscience. My conscience said, 'Go for it.'"
