11 E quando fu re, non appena si fu assiso sul trono, distrusse tutta la casa di Baasa; non gli lasciò neppure un bimbo: né parenti, né amici.

1 Kings 16:11

And it came to pass when he began to reign, as soon as he sat
on his throne
Perhaps the very first day,

that he slew all the house of Baasha;
his whole family, all the children that he had, that there might be none to make pretensions to the throne:

he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his
kinsfolks nor of his friends;
not any that might avenge the blood of his family, that might have a right or inclination to do it.

9 Zimri, suo servo, comandante della metà de’ suoi carri, congiurò contro di lui. Ela era a Tirtsa, bevendo ed ubriacandosi in casa di Artsa, prefetto del palazzo di Tirtsa,
10 quando Zimri entrò, lo colpì e l’uccise, l’anno ventisettesimo d’Asa, re di Giuda, e regnò in luogo suo.
11 E quando fu re, non appena si fu assiso sul trono, distrusse tutta la casa di Baasa; non gli lasciò neppure un bimbo: né parenti, né amici.
12 Così Zimri sterminò tutta la casa di Baasa, secondo la parola che l’Eterno avea pronunziata contro Baasa per bocca del profeta Jehu,
13 a motivo di tutti i peccati che Baasa ed Ela, suo figliuolo, aveano commesso e fatto commettere ad Israele, provocando ad ira l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele, con i loro idoli.
