Deuteronomy 29:3

The great temptations which thine eyes have seen
Or trials, the ten plagues which tried the Egyptians, whether they would let Israel go; and tried the Israelites, whether they would believe in the Lord, and trust in his almighty power to deliver them:

the signs and those great miracles:
as the said plagues were such as were beyond the power of nature to produce, and which only Omnipotence could really effect.

Deuteronomio 29:3 In-Context

1 Queste sono le parole del patto che l’Eterno comandò a Mosè di stabilire coi figliuoli d’Israele nel paese di Moab, oltre il patto che avea stabilito con essi a Horeb.

2 Mosè convocò dunque tutto Israele, e disse loro: "Voi avete veduto tutto quello che l’Eterno ha fatto sotto gli occhi vostri, nel paese d’Egitto, a Faraone, a tutti i suoi servitori e a tutto il suo paese;

3 gli occhi tuoi han vedute le calamità grandi con le quali furon provati, quei miracoli, quei gran prodigi;

4 ma, fino a questo giorno, l’Eterno non v’ha dato un cuore per comprendere, né occhi per vedere, né orecchi per udire.

5 Io vi ho condotti quarant’anni nel deserto; le vostre vesti non vi si son logorate addosso, né i vostri calzari vi si son logorati ai piedi.
