Jeremiah 50:19

And I will bring Israel again to his habitation
Or "fold" ^F21, or place of pasturage; for the metaphor of sheep is still continued. Israel designs not the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, and the Levites, and a few of the other tribes mixed with them only, but all Israel, together with Judah, as appears from ( Jeremiah 50:20 ) ; and so this prophecy had not its full accomplishment at the Jews' return from the Babylonish captivity; but respects their future conversion, when all Israel shall be saved, and they will return to their own land. Kimchi says this refers to time yet to come; which he prefers to the other sense he mentions, of the return of the captivity of Babylon; and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be
satisfied upon Mount Ephraim and Gilead;
which, as they were all fruitful places, and had good pasturage, so they belonged to the ten tribes; which shows that it respects the return of them and the fulness of blessings, both temporal and spiritual, they shall then enjoy.

17 Israele è una pecora smarrita, a cui de’ leoni han dato la caccia; il re d’Assiria, pel primo, l’ha divorata; e quest’ultimo, Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, le ha frantumate le ossa.

18 Perciò così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io punirò il re di Babilonia e il suo paese, come ho punito il re d’Assiria.

19 E ricondurrò Israele ai suoi pascoli; egli pasturerà al Carmel e in Basan, e l’anima sua si sazierà sui colli d’Efraim e in Galaad.

20 In quei giorni, in quel tempo, dice l’Eterno, si cercherà l’iniquità d’Israele, ma essa non sarà più, e i peccati di Giuda, ma non si troveranno; poiché io perdonerò a quelli che avrò lasciati di resto.

21 Sali contro il paese di Merathaim e contro gli abitanti di Pekod! Inseguili colla spada, votali allo sterminio, dice l’Eterno, e fa’ esattamente come io t’ho comandato!
