1 Sedekia avea ventun anni quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò a Gerusalemme undici anni. Sua madre si chiamava Hamutal, figliuola di Geremia da Libna.

Jeremiah 52:1

Zedekiah [was] one and twenty years old when he began to reign,
&c.] Whose name was Mattaniah; and who was set on the throne by the king of Babylon, in the room of his brother's son Jehoiachin, ( 2 Kings 24:17 2 Kings 24:18 ) ; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem;
so that he was thirty two years of age when he was taken and carried captive into Babylon: and his mother's name [was] Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah;

1 Sedekia avea ventun anni quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò a Gerusalemme undici anni. Sua madre si chiamava Hamutal, figliuola di Geremia da Libna.
2 Egli fece ciò ch’è male agli occhi dell’Eterno, in tutto e per tutto come avea fatto Joiakim.
3 E a causa dell’ira dell’Eterno contro Gerusalemme e Giuda, le cose arrivarono al punto che l’Eterno li cacciò dalla sua presenza. E Sedekia si ribellò al re di Babilonia.
4 L’anno nono del regno di Sedekia, il decimo giorno del decimo mese, Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, venne con tutto il suo esercito contro Gerusalemme; s’accampò contro di lei, e la circondò di posti fortificati.
5 E la città fu assediata fino all’undecimo anno del re Sedekia.
