I served the Lord with great humility and with tears,1 although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews.2
20
You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything3 that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house.

I have declared to both Jews4 and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance5 and have faith in our Lord Jesus.6

"And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem,7 not knowing what will happen to me there.

I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me8 that prison and hardships are facing me.9

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me,10 if only I may finish the race11 and complete the task12 the Lord Jesus has given me13--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.14

"Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom15 will ever see me again.16

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men.17
27
For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.18
28
Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock19 of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.a20 Be shepherds of the church of God,b21 which he bought22 with his own blood.23
29
I know that after I leave, savage wolves24 will come in among you and will not spare the flock.25
