The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa1--what he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake,2 when Uzziah3 was king of Judah and Jeroboam4 son of Jehoasha was king of Israel.5

He said: "The LORD roars6 from Zion and thunders7 from Jerusalem;8 the pastures of the shepherds dry up,b and the top of Carmel9 withers."10
