13 Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "My servants will eat,¹ but you will go hungry;² my servants will drink,³ but you will go thirsty;⁴ my servants will rejoice,⁵ but you will be put to shame.⁶ 14 My servants will sing⁷ out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out⁸ from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit. 15 You will leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse;⁹ the Sovereign LORD will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name.¹⁰ 16 Whoever invokes a blessing¹¹ in the land will do so by the God of truth;¹² he who takes an oath in the land will swear¹³ by the God of truth. For the past troubles¹⁴ will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.
