Arise,1 LORD! Lift up your hand,2 O God. Do not forget the helpless.313
Why does the wicked man revile God?4 Why does he say to himself, "He won't call me to account"?514
But you, O God, do see trouble6 and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you;7 you are the helper8 of the fatherless.
Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;9 call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.
The LORD is King for ever and ever;10 the nations11 will perish from his land.
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;12 you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,1318
defending the fatherless14 and the oppressed,15 in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
