He made haste and came down (speusa katebh). Luke repeats the very words of Jesus with the same idiom. Received him joyfully (upedexato auton cairwn). The very verb used of Martha's welcome to Jesus ( Amos 10:38 ). "Joyfully" is the present active participle, "rejoicing" (cairwn).
