We 1put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
but 2as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: 3by great endurance, 4in afflictions, 5hardships, calamities,
56beatings, imprisonments, 7riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;
68by purity, 9knowledge, patience, kindness, 10the Holy Spirit, 11genuine love;
by 12truthful speech, and 13the power of God; with 14the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;
through honor and dishonor, 15through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;
as unknown, and 16yet well known; 17as dying, and behold, we live; 18as punished, and yet not killed;
1019as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; 20as poor, yet making many rich; 21as having nothing, 22yet possessing everything.
We have spoken freely to you,a Corinthians; 23our heart is wide open.
You are not restricted by us, but 24you are restricted in your own affections.
1325In return (I speak 26as to children) widen your hearts also.
