3 We 1put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4 but 2as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: 3by great endurance, 4in afflictions, 5hardships, calamities, 5 6beatings, imprisonments, 7riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 8by purity, 9knowledge, patience, kindness, 10the Holy Spirit, 11genuine love; 7 by 12truthful speech, and 13the power of God; with 14the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, 15through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and 16yet well known; 17as dying, and behold, we live; 18as punished, and yet not killed; 10 19as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; 20as poor, yet making many rich; 21as having nothing, 22yet possessing everything. 11 We have spoken freely to you,a Corinthians; 23our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but 24you are restricted in your own affections. 13 25In return (I speak 26as to children) widen your hearts also.
