1Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of 2the Righteous One, 3whom you have now betrayed and murdered,
you who received the law 4as delivered by angels and 5did not keep it."
Now when they heard these things 6they were enraged, and they 7ground their teeth at him.
But he, 8full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw 9the glory of God, and Jesus standing 10at the right hand of God.
And he said, "Behold, I see 11the heavens opened, and 12the Son of Man standing 13at the right hand of God."
But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him.
Then 14they cast him out of the city and 15stoned him. And 16the witnesses laid down their garments 17at the feet of a young man named Saul.
And as they were stoning Stephen, 18he called out, "Lord Jesus, 19receive my spirit."
And 20falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, 21"Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, 22he fell asleep.
