Joshua 19:14 Meaning and Commentary

Joshua 19:14

And the border compasseth it from the north side to
Hannathon
This is the northern border of the tribe, which took a circuit from the last place to this; of which and the following place we have no account; Jerom only makes mention of them as in the tribe of Zebulun:

and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel;
here the northern border ended, which, Masius conjectures, was part of the valley of Carmel.

Joshua 19:14 In-Context

12 and it turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrise to the border of Kislot-Tavor; and it went out to Daverat, and went up to Yafia;
13 and from there it passed along eastward to Gat-Hefer, to `Et-Katzin; and it went out at Rimmon which stretches to Ne`ah;
14 and the border turned about it on the north to Hannaton; and the goings out of it were at the valley of Yiftach-El;
15 and Kattat, and Nahalal, and Shimron, and Yid'alah, and Beit-Lechem: twelve cities with their villages.
16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zevulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
