Who has helped you utter these words? And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?2
"The dead are in deep anguish,3 those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
Death4 is naked before God; Destruction5 lies uncovered.6
He spreads out the northern [skies]7 over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.8
He wraps up the waters9 in his clouds,10 yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.
He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds11 over it.
He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters12 for a boundary between light and darkness.13
The pillars of the heavens quake,14 aghast at his rebuke.
By his power he churned up the sea;15 by his wisdom16 he cut Rahab17 to pieces.
