I exhortatherefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be madeforallmen;2Forkings,and for all that areinauthority;bthat we may lead a quietandpeaceablelifeinallgodlinessandhonesty.3Forthis is goodandacceptable in the sight of GodourSaviour;4Who will haveallmen to be saved , and to comeunto the knowledge of the truth.5For there is oneGod,andonemediator between Godandmen, the manChristJesus;6Whogavehimself a ransomforall, to be testified in duetime.7WhereuntoI am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truthinChrist, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentilesinfaithandverity.8
I willtherefore that menprayeverywhere, lifting upholyhands,withoutwrathanddoubting.9
In like manneralso, that womenadornthemselvesinmodestapparel, withshamefacednessandsobriety;notwith broided hair,orgold,orpearls,orcostlyarray;10But (which becomethwomenprofessing godliness) withgoodworks.11Let the womanlearninsilencewithallsubjection.12But I suffernot a woman to teach , nor to usurp authority over the man,but to beinsilence.13ForAdamwasfirstformed , thenEve.14AndAdamwasnotdeceived , but the woman being deceivedwasin the transgression.15Notwithstanding she shall be savedinchildbearing,if they continueinfaithandcharityandholinesswithsobriety.
