1Now1I makeknown to you, brethren, the 2gospelwhich I preached to you, whichalso you received, 3in whichalso you stand,
by whichalso you are saved, 4if you holdfastathe wordwhich I preached to you, 5unless you believed in vain.
For 6I delivered to you bas of firstimportancewhat I alsoreceived, that Christdied7for our sins8according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried, and that He was 9raised on the thirdday10according to the Scriptures,
and that 11He appeared to 12Cephas, then13to the twelve.
6After that He appeared to morethanfivehundredbrethren at onetime, most of whomremainuntilnow, but some14have fallenasleep ;
7then He appeared to c15James, then to 16all the apostles ;
and last of all, as dto oneuntimelyborn, 17He appeared to me also.
For I am18the least of the apostles, eand not fit to be called an apostle, because I 19persecuted the church of God.
But by 20the grace of God I amwhat I am, and His gracetoward me did not provevain ; but I 21laboredevenmore than all of them, yet22not I, but the grace of God with me.
11Whetherthen it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
12NowifChrist is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do someamong you say that there 23is noresurrection of the dead ?
But if there is noresurrection of the dead, not evenChrist has been raised ;
and 24ifChrist has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faithalso is vain.
15Moreover we are evenfound to be falsewitnesses of God, because we testifiedfagainstGod that He 25raisedgChrist, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.
For if the dead are not raised, not evenChrist has been raised ;
and ifChrist has not been raised, your faith is worthless ; 26you are still in your sins.
18Thenthosealso who 27have fallenasleep in Christ have perished.
19If we have hoped in Christ in thislifeonly, we are 28of allmenmost to be pitied.
