2 1Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 We ought always 2to give thanks to God for you, 3brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the 4love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; 4 therefore, we ourselves 5speak proudly of you among 6the churches of God for your aperseverance and faith 7in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5 This is a 8plain indication of God's righteous judgment so that you will be 9considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. 6 bFor after all 10it is only just cfor God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted dand to us as well e11when the Lord Jesus will be revealed 12from heaven 13with fHis mighty angels 14in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who 15do not know God and to those who 16do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 These will pay the penalty of 17eternal destruction, 18away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes to be 19glorified gin His hsaints on that 20day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed -for our 21testimony to you was believed. 11 To this end also we 22pray for you always, that our God will i23count you worthy of your 24calling, and fulfill every desire for 25goodness and the 26work of faith with power, 12 so that the 27name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
