1
But realizethis, that 1in the lastdaysdifficulttimes will come.
2
For men will be 2lovers of self, 3lovers of money, 4boastful, 5arrogant, 6revilers, 7disobedient to parents, 8ungrateful, 9unholy,
310unloving, irreconcilable, 11maliciousgossips, withoutself-control, brutal, a12haters of good,
413treacherous, 14reckless, 15conceited, 16lovers of pleasureratherthanlovers of God,
5holding to a form of b17godliness, although they have 18denied its power ; 19Avoid such men as these.
6
For among them are those who c20enter into households and captivated21weakwomenweigheddown with sins, led on by 22variousimpulses,
7alwayslearning and neverable to 23come to the eknowledge of the truth.
8Just as 24Jannes and Jambres25opposedMoses, sothese men alsooppose the truth, 26men of depravedmind, rejected in regard to the faith.
9
But they will not makefurtherprogress ; for their 27folly will be obvious to all, just28as fJannes's and Jambres's folly was also.
10
Now you 29followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, 30love, gperseverance,
1131persecutions, and 32sufferings, such as happened to me at 33Antioch, at 34Iconium and at 35Lystra ; what36persecutions I endured, and out of them all37the Lordrescued me!
12Indeed, all who desire to livegodly in ChristJesus38will be persecuted.
13
But evilmen and impostors39will proceed from bad to worse, 40deceiving and being deceived.
14
You, however, 41continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
15
and that 42from childhood you have known43the sacredwritings which are able to 44give you the wisdom that leads to 45salvationthroughfaith which is in 46ChristJesus.
1647AllScripture is hinspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for itraining in righteousness ;
17so that 48the man of God may be adequate, 49equipped for everygoodwork.
