1Thereforeif you have been 1raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, whereChrist is, 2seated at the righthand of God.
2a3Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
3
For you have 4died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4WhenChrist, 5who is our life, is revealed, 6then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
57Thereforebconsider8the members of your earthly body as dead to c9immorality, impurity, passion, evildesire, and greed, whichdamounts to idolatry.
6
For it is because of thesethings that 10the wrath of God will comeeupon the sons of disobedience,
7
and 11in them you alsooncewalked, when you were livingfin them.
8
But now you also, 12put them allaside : 13anger, wrath, malice, slander, and 14abusivespeech from your mouth.
9g15Do not lie to oneanother, since you 16laidaside the oldhself with its evil practices,
10
and have 17put on the newself who is being i18renewed to a trueknowledge19according to the image of the One who 20created him-
11
a renewal in which21there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, 22circumcised and uncircumcised, j23barbarian, Scythian, 24slave and freeman, but 25Christ is all, and in all.
12So, as those who have been 26chosen of God, holy and beloved, 27put on a 28heart of compassion, kindness, 29humility, gentleness and k30patience ;
1331bearing with oneanother, and 32forgivingeachother, whoeverhas a complaintagainstanyone ; 33just as the Lordforgave you, soalso should you.
14Beyondallthesethings put on love, which is l34the perfectbond of 35unity.
15
Let 36the peace of Christmrule in your hearts, to whichnindeed you were called in 37onebody ; and obe thankful.
16
Let 38the word of pChristrichlydwellwithin you, qwith allwisdom39teaching and admonishingroneanother40with psalms and hymns and spiritualsongs, 41singingswith thankfulness in your hearts to God.
1742Whatever you do in wordordeed, do all in the name of the LordJesus, 43givingthanksthrough Him to God the Father.
1844Wives, 45be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
1946Husbands, love your wives and do not be embitteredagainst them.
2047Children, be obedient to your parents in allthings, for this is well-pleasingtto the Lord.
2148Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not loseheart.
2249Slaves, in allthingsobeythose who are your mastersuon earth, 50not with vexternalservice, as those who merely pleasemen, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
23Whatever you do, do your workwheartily, 51as for the Lordxratherthan for men,
2452knowing that from the Lord you will receive the rewardyof 53the inheritance. It is the LordChrist whom you 54serve.
25
For 55he who doeswrong will receive the consequences of the wrongwhich he has done, and z56that withoutpartiality.
