The Choice Young Men

1 In the third year of the reign of 1Jehoiakim king of Judah, 2Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged * it.

              8 But Daniel kmade up his mind that he would not 19defile himself with the 20king's choice food or with the 21wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself.
