But remember 1the former days, awhen , after being 2enlightened, you endured a great 3conflict of sufferings,

partly by being 4made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming 5sharers with those who were so treated.

For you 6showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted 7joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves 8a better possession and a lasting one.
35
Therefore, do not throw away your 9confidence, which has a great 10reward.
36
For you have need of 11endurance, so that when you have 12done the will of God, you may 13receive bwhat was promised.
37
14FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, 15HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.

16BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH ; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.

But cwe are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the dpreserving of the soul.
