Then, when they had rowedaboutthree*or four miles, they sawJesuswalking on the sea and drawingnear to the boat; and they were frightened.

But He said to them, "It is I; 1do not be afraid."

So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

The nextday2the crowd that stood on the otherside of the seasaw that there was noothersmallboatthere, exceptone, and that Jesus3had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had goneawayalone.

There cameothersmallboats from 4Tiberiasnear to the placewhere they ate the bread after the 5Lord6had giventhanks.

Sowhen the crowdsaw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselvesgot into the smallboats, and 7came to CapernaumseekingJesus.

When they found Him on the otherside of the sea, they said to Him, "8Rabbi, when did You gethere?"

26Jesusanswered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you 9seek Me, not because you saw10signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

"Do not 11work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to 12eternallife, which13the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, 14has set His seal."

Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?"

Jesusanswered and said to them, "This is 15the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He 16has sent."
