"Whoever does not receive you, norheed your words, as you go out of that houseor that city, 1shake the dustoff your feet.

"Truly I say to you, 2it will be moretolerable for the land of 3Sodom and Gomorrah in 4the day of judgmentthan for that city.
A Hard Road before Them
16"5Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be 6shrewd as serpents and 7innocent as doves.

"But beware of men, for they will hand you over to the 8courts and scourge you 9in their synagogues;

and you will even be broughtbeforegovernors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

"10But when they hand you over, 11do not worry about howorwhat you are to say; for it will be given you in that hourwhat you are to say.

"For 12it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

"13Brother will betraybrother to death, and a father his child; and 14children will rise up againstparents and cause them to be put to death.

"15You will be hated by allbecause of My name, but 16it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

"But whenever they 17persecute you in onecity, flee to the next; for truly I say to you, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel18until the Son of Mancomes.
