"Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, 'When any man of you brings an offering to the LORD , you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock.
'Or if a person touches any unclean thing, whether a carcass of an unclean beast or the carcass of unclean cattle or a carcass of unclean swarming things, though it is hidden from him and he is unclean, then he will be guilty.
'When anyone touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, or an unclean animal, or any unclean detestable thing, and eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to the LORD , that person shall be cut off from his people.' "
'For whoever eats the fat of the animal from which an offering by fire is offered to the LORD , even the person who eats shall be cut off from his people.
'You are not to eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your dwellings.
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'These are the creatures which you may eat from all the animals that are on the earth.
'Whatever divides a hoof, thus making split hoofs, and chews the cud, among the animals, that you may eat.
'Concerning all the animals which divide the hoof but do not make a split hoof, or which do not chew cud, they are unclean to you: whoever touches them becomes unclean.
'Also if one of the animals dies which you have for food, the one who touches its carcass becomes unclean until evening.
This is the law regarding the animal and the bird, and every living thing that moves in the waters and everything that swarms on the earth,
'Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
'You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.
'If there is a man who lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; you shall also kill the animal.
'If there is a woman who approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
'You are therefore to make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; and you shall not make yourselves detestable by animal or by bird or by anything that creeps on the ground, which I have separated for you as unclean.
'The one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life.
'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death.
'Even your cattle and the animals that are in your land shall have all its crops to eat.
'I will let loose among you the beasts of the field, which will bereave you of your children and destroy your cattle and reduce your number so that your roads lie deserted.
'Now if it is an animal of the kind which men can present as an offering to the LORD , any such that one gives to the LORD shall be holy.
'He shall not replace it or exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good; or if he does exchange animal for animal, then both it and its substitute shall become holy.
'If, however, it is any unclean animal of the kind which men do not present as an offering to the LORD , then he shall place the animal before the priest.
'However, a firstborn among animals, which as a firstborn belongs to the LORD , no man may consecrate it; whether ox or sheep, it is the LORD'S.
'But if it is among the unclean animals, then he shall redeem it according to your valuation and add to it one-fifth of it; and if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.
'Nevertheless, anything which a man sets apart to the LORD out of all that he has, of man or animal or of the fields of his own property, shall not be sold or redeemed. Anything devoted to destruction is most holy to the LORD .
