who, although He 3existed in the 4form of God, 5did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
but 6emptied Himself, taking the form of a 7bond-servant, and 8being made in the likeness of men.
Being found in appearance as a man, 9He humbled Himself by becoming 10obedient to the point of death, even 11death on a cross.
12For this reason also, God 13highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him 14the name which is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus 15EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of 16those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is 17Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
So then, my beloved, 18just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your 19salvation with 20fear and trembling;
for it is 21God who is at work in you, both to will and to work 22for His good pleasure.
so that you will prove yourselves to be 24blameless and innocent, 25children of God above reproach in the midst of a 26crooked and perverse generation, among whom you 27appear as lights in the world,
holding fast the word of life, so that in 28the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not 29run in vain nor 30toil in vain.
