10
And 1he carried me awaya2in the Spirit to a great and highmountain, and showed me 3the holycity, Jerusalem, comingdown out of heaven from God,
11having4the glory of God. Her bbrilliance was like a verycostlystone, as a 5stone of 6crystal-clearjasper.
12cIt had a great and highwall, d7with twelve8gates, and at the gatestwelveangels ; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelvetribes of the sons of Israel.
13
There were threegates on the east and threegates on the north and threegates on the south and threegates on the west.
14
And the wall of the cityhad9twelvefoundationstones, and on them were the twelvenames of the 10twelveapostles of the Lamb.
15
The one who spoke with me had a egoldmeasuring11rod to measure the city, and its 12gates and its wall.
16
The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width ; and he measured the city with the frod, gfifteen hundred miles ; its length and width and height are equal.
17
And he measured its wall, hseventy-two yards, according to 13humanimeasurements, which are also 14angelic measurements.
18
The material of the wall was 15jasper ; and the city was 16puregold, likejclear17glass.
1918The foundationstones of the citywall were adorned with everykind of preciousstone. The firstfoundationstone was 19jasper ; the second, sapphire ; the third, chalcedony ; the fourth, 20emerald ;
20
the fifth, sardonyx ; the sixth, 21sardius ; the seventh, chrysolite ; the eighth, beryl ; the ninth, topaz ; the tenth, chrysoprase ; the eleventh, jacinth ; the twelfth, amethyst.
21
And the twelve22gates were twelve23pearls ; eachone of the gates was a singlepearl. And the street of the city was 24puregold, liketransparent25glass.
22
I saw26noktemple in it, for the 27LordGod the Almighty and the 28Lamb are its ltemple.
23
And the city29hasnoneed of the sunor of the moon to shine on it, for 30the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the 31Lamb.
2432The nations will walk by its light, and the 33kings of the earthmwill bring their glory into it.
25
In the daytime (for 34there will be nonightthere ) 35its gates36will never be closed ;
26
and 37they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;
27
and 38nothingunclean, and no one who practicesabomination and lying, shall evercome into it, but onlythosenwhose names are 39written in the Lamb'sbook of life.
