Jonah 3:1-4

Jonah Goes to Nineveh

1 A message came to Jonah from the LORD a second time. He said,
2 "Go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce to its people the message I give you."
3 Jonah obeyed the Lord. He went to Nineveh. It was a very important city. In fact, it took about three days to see all of it.
4 On the first day, Jonah started into the city. He announced, "In 40 days Nineveh will be destroyed."

INTRODUCTION TO JONAH 3

This chapter gives an account of the renewal of Jonah's message to Nineveh, and of his faithful execution of it, Jon 3:1-4; and of the fruit and effect of it, the conversion of the Ninevites, their faith in God, repentance of their sins, and reformation from them, Jon 3:5-9; and of God's approbation thereof, by revoking the sentence he had pronounced upon them, Jon 3:10.
