Yochanan 6:61

61 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, having da’as in himself that his talmidim are grumbling about this, said to them, Does this cause a michshol for you?

Yochanan 6:61 Meaning and Commentary

John 6:61

When Jesus knew in himself
And of himself, without any intelligence from others, or hearing what was said, being the omniscient God:

that his disciples murmured at it;
at the doctrine he had delivered, looking upon it as absurd, incredible, and contrary to sense and reason:

he said unto them, does this offend you?
or trouble you? cannot you get over this? cannot you understand it? or account for it? if not, how will you be able to digest some other things, or reconcile them to your minds, which are less known, and more unexpected, and will appear at first sight more surprising?

Yochanan 6:61 In-Context

59 These things he said in a shul while teaching in K’far-Nachum.
60 Therefore, many of Moshiach’s talmidim, having heard, said, Hard is this dvar Torah. Who is able to hear it? [YESHAYAH 53:1]
61 And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach, having da’as in himself that his talmidim are grumbling about this, said to them, Does this cause a michshol for you?
62 What if you behold the Ben HaAdam ascending where he was Bereshis?
63 The Ruach Hakodesh is that which is making alive, the basar does not profit anything. The dvarim which I have spoken to you are as Ruach and they are as Chayyim (Life).
