To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The LORD answer you in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob protect you! 1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary, and give you support from Zion! 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your offerings, and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! [Selah] 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. "Selah"
May he grant you your heart's desire, and fulfil all your plans! 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
May we shout for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the LORD fulfil all your petitions! 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
Now I know that the LORD will help his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories by his right hand. 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.
Some boast of chariots, and some of horses; but we boast of the name of the LORD our God. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They will collapse and fall; but we shall rise and stand upright. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
Give victory to the king, O LORD; answer us when we call. 9 O LORD, save the king! Answer us when we call!
