Protect me, God, because I trust in you. 1 Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord. Every good thing I have comes from you." 2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
As for the godly people in the world, they are the wonderful ones I enjoy. 3 As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.
But those who turn to idols will have much pain. I will not offer blood to those idols or even speak their names. 4 The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.
No, the Lord is all I need. He takes care of me. 5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
My share in life has been pleasant; my part has been beautiful. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
