1 Corinthians 16

NLT 1 Now about the money being collected for the Christians in Jerusalem: You should follow the same procedures I gave to the churches in Galatia. NIV 1 Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. NLT 2 On every Lord's Day, each of you should put aside some amount of money in relation to what you have earned and save it for this offering. Don't wait until I get there and then try to collect it all at once. NIV 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. NLT 3 When I come I will write letters of recommendation for the messengers you choose to deliver your gift to Jerusalem. NIV 3 Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem. NLT 4 And if it seems appropriate for me also to go along, then we can travel together. NIV 4 If it seems advisable for me to go also, they will accompany me. NLT 5 I am coming to visit you after I have been to Macedonia, for I am planning to travel through Macedonia. NIV 5 After I go through Macedonia, I will come to you--for I will be going through Macedonia. NLT 6 It could be that I will stay awhile with you, perhaps all winter, and then you can send me on my way to the next destination. NIV 6 Perhaps I will stay with you awhile, or even spend the winter, so that you can help me on my journey, wherever I go. NLT 7 This time I don't want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me. NIV 7 I do not want to see you now and make only a passing visit; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. NLT 8 In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost, NIV 8 But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost, NLT 9 for there is a wide-open door for a great work here, and many people are responding. But there are many who oppose me. NIV 9 because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. NLT 10 When Timothy comes, treat him with respect. He is doing the Lord's work, just as I am. NIV 10 If Timothy comes, see to it that he has nothing to fear while he is with you, for he is carrying on the work of the Lord, just as I am. NLT 11 Don't let anyone despise him. Send him on his way with your blessings when he returns to me. I am looking forward to seeing him soon, along with the other brothers. NIV 11 No one, then, should refuse to accept him. Send him on his way in peace so that he may return to me. I am expecting him along with the brothers. NLT 12 Now about our brother Apollos -- I urged him to join the other brothers when they visit you, but he was not willing to come right now. He will be seeing you later, when the time is right. NIV 12 Now about our brother Apollos: I strongly urged him to go to you with the brothers. He was quite unwilling to go now, but he will go when he has the opportunity. NLT 13 Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. NIV 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. NLT 14 And everything you do must be done with love. NIV 14 Do everything in love. NLT 15 You know that Stephanas and his household were the first to become Christians in Greece, and they are spending their lives in service to other Christians. I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, NIV 15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints. I urge you, brothers, NLT 16 to respect them fully and others like them who serve with such real devotion. NIV 16 to submit to such as these and to everyone who joins in the work, and labors at it. NLT 17 I am so glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have come here. They have been making up for the help you weren't here to give me. NIV 17 I was glad when Stephanas, Fortunatus and Achaicus arrived, because they have supplied what was lacking from you. NLT 18 They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you, too. You must give proper honor to all who serve so well. NIV 18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition. NLT 19 The churches here in the province of Asia greet you heartily in the Lord, along with Aquila and Priscilla and all the others who gather in their home for church meetings. NIV 19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. NLT 20 All the brothers and sisters here have asked me to greet you for them. Greet each other in Christian love. NIV 20 All the brothers here send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. NLT 21 Here is my greeting, which I write with my own hand -- PAUL. NIV 21 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. NLT 22 If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come! NIV 22 If anyone does not love the Lord --a curse be on him. Come, O Lord ! NLT 23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. NIV 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. NLT 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. NIV 24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
