1 Timothy 2

NCV 1 First, I tell you to pray for all people, asking God for what they need and being thankful to him. NIV 1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- NCV 2 Pray for rulers and for all who have authority so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives full of worship and respect for God. NIV 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. NIV 7 And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles. NCV 8 So, I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up their hands in a holy manner, without anger and arguments. NCV 9 Also, women should wear proper clothes that show respect and self-control, not using braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes. NCV 12 But I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to listen quietly, NIV 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. NCV 13 because Adam was formed first and then Eve. NIV 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. NCV 14 And Adam was not tricked, but the woman was tricked and became a sinner. NIV 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. NCV 15 But she will be saved through having children if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control. NIV 15 But women will be saved through childbearing--if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
