2 Corinthians 3

TYN 1 We begyn to prayse oure selves agayne. Nede we as some other of pistles of recommendacion vnto you? or letters of recomendacion from you? NIV 1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? TYN 2 Ye are oure pistle written in oure hertes which is vnderstonde and reed of all men NIV 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. TYN 3 in that ye are knowen how that ye are the pistle of Christ ministred by vs and written not with ynke: but with the sprete of the livynge God not in tables of stone but in flesshly tables of ye herte. NIV 3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. TYN 4 Suche trust have we thorow Christ to god ward NIV 4 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. TYN 5 not that we are sufficient of oure selves to thinke enythinge as it were of oure selves: but oure ablenes cometh of God NIV 5 Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. TYN 6 which hath made vs able to minister the newe testamet not of the letter but of the sprete. For the letter kylleth but the sprete geveth lyfe. NIV 6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. TYN 7 Yf the ministracion of deeth thorow the letters figured in stones was glorious so yt the chyldren of Israel coulde not beholde the face of Moses for the glory of his countenauce (which glory neverthelesse is done awaye) NIV 7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was, TYN 8 why shall not the ministracion of the sprete be moche more glorious? NIV 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? TYN 9 For if ye ministringe of condempnacio beglorious: moche more do the the ministracion of rightewesnes excede in glory. NIV 9 If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! TYN 10 For no dout that which was there glorified is not once glorified in respecte of this excedynge glory. NIV 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. TYN 11 Then if that which is destroyed was glorious moche more shall that which remayneth be glorious. NIV 11 And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! TYN 12 Seynge then that we have soche trust we vse gret boldnes NIV 12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. TYN 13 and do not as Moses which put a vayle over his face that the children of Israel shuld not se for what purpose that served which is put awaye. NIV 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. TYN 14 But their myndes were blinded. For untill this daye remayneth the same coveringe vntake awaye in the olde testamet when they reade it which in Christ is put awaye. NIV 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. TYN 15 But even vnto this daye when Moses is redde ye vayle hangeth before their hertes. NIV 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. TYN 16 Neverthelesse when they tourne to ye Lorde the vayle shalbe taken awaye. NIV 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. TYN 17 The Lorde no dout is a sprete. And where the sprete of the Lorde is there is libertie. NIV 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. TYN 18 But we all beholde the glorye of the Lorde with his face open and are chaunged vnto the same similitude from glory to glory even of the sprite of the Lorde. NIV 18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
