2 Samuel 22:31-51

RHE 31 God, his way is immaculate, the word of the Lord is tried by fire: he is the shield of all that trust in him. NIV 31 "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. RHE 32 Who is God but the Lord: and who is strong but our God? NIV 32 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God? RHE 33 God who hath girded me with strength, and made my way perfect. NIV 33 It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. RHE 34 Making my feet like the feet of harts, and setting me upon my high places. NIV 34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. RHE 35 He teacheth my hands to war: and maketh my arms like a bow of brass. NIV 35 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. RHE 36 Thou hast given me the shield of my salvation: and thy mildness hath multiplied me. NIV 36 You give me your shield of victory; you stoop down to make me great. RHE 37 Thou shalt enlarge my steps under me: and my ankles shall not fail. NIV 37 You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn. RHE 38 I will pursue after my enemies, and crush them: and will not return again till I consume them. NIV 38 "I pursued my enemies and crushed them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed. RHE 39 I will consume them and break them in pieces, so that they shall not rise: they shall fall under my feet. NIV 39 I crushed them completely, and they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet. RHE 40 Thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast made them that resisted me to bow under me. NIV 40 You armed me with strength for battle; you made my adversaries bow at my feet. RHE 41 My enemies thou hast made to turn their back to me: them that hated me, and I shall destroy them. NIV 41 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes. RHE 42 They shall cry, and there shall be none to save: to the Lord, and he shall not hear them. NIV 42 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them-- to the LORD, but he did not answer. RHE 43 I shall beat them as small as the dust of the earth: I shall crush them and spread them abroad like the mire of the streets. NIV 43 I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets. RHE 44 Thou wilt save me from the contradictions of my people: thou wilt keep me to be the head of the Gentiles: the people which I know not, shall serve me, NIV 44 "You have delivered me from the attacks of my people; you have preserved me as the head of nations. People I did not know are subject to me, RHE 45 The sons of the stranger will resist me, at the hearing of the ear they will obey me. NIV 45 and foreigners come cringing to me; as soon as they hear me, they obey me. RHE 46 The strangers are melted away, and shall be straitened in their distresses. NIV 46 They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds. RHE 47 The Lord liveth, and my God is blessed: and the strong God of my salvation shall be exalted: NIV 47 "The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God, the Rock, my Savior! RHE 48 God who giveth me revenge, and bringest down people under me, NIV 48 He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me, RHE 49 Who bringest me forth from my enemies, and liftest me up from them that resist me: from the wicked man thou shalt deliver me. NIV 49 who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from violent men you rescued me. RHE 50 Therefore will I give thanks to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and will sing to thy name. NIV 50 Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing praises to your name. RHE 51 Giving great salvation to his king, and shewing mercy to David his anointed, and to his seed for ever. NIV 51 He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever."
