TMBA 1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. NIV 1 And Saul was there, giving approval to his death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. TMBA 2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. NIV 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. TMBA 3 As for Saul, he made havoc of the church. Entering into every house and haling men and women, he committed them to prison. NIV 3 But Saul began to destroy the church. NIV 4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
