Exodus 35

RHE 1 And all the multitude of the children of Israel being gathered together, he said to them: These are the things which the Lord hath commanded to be done: NIV 1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: RHE 2 Six days you shall do work; the seventh day shall be holy unto you, the sabbath and the rest of the Lord: he that shall do any work on it, shall be put to death. NIV 2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. RHE 3 You shall kindle no fire in any of your habitations on the sabbath day. NIV 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day." RHE 4 And Moses said to all the assembly of the children of Israel: This is the word the Lord hath commanded, saying: NIV 4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded: RHE 5 Set aside with you firstfruits to the Lord. Let every one that is willing and hath a ready heart, offer them to the Lord: gold, and silver, and brass, NIV 5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze; RHE 6 Violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, goats’ hair, NIV 6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; RHE 7 And rams’ skins dyed red, and violet coloured skins, setim wood, NIV 7 ram skins dyed red and hides of sea cows; acacia wood; RHE 8 And oil to maintain lights, and to make ointment, and most sweet incense, NIV 8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; RHE 9 Onyx stones, and precious stones, for the adorning of the ephod and the rational. NIV 9 and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. RHE 10 Whosoever of you is wise, let him come, and make that which the Lord hath commanded: NIV 10 "All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded: RHE 11 To wit, the tabernacle, and the roof thereof, and the cover, the rings, and the board-work with the bars, the pillars and the sockets: NIV 11 the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases; RHE 12 The ark and the staves, the propitiatory, and the veil that is drawn before it: NIV 12 the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it; RHE 13 The table with the bars and the vessels, and the loaves of proposition: NIV 13 the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence; RHE 14 The candlestick to bear up the lights, the vessels thereof and the lamps, and the oil for the nourishing of fires: NIV 14 the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light; RHE 15 The altar of incense, and the bars, and the oil of unction, and the incense of spices: the hanging at the door of the tabernacle: NIV 15 the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle; RHE 16 The altar of holocaust, and its grate of brass, with the bars and vessels thereof: the laver and its foot: NIV 16 the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand; RHE 17 The curtains of the court, with the pillars and the sockets, the hanging in the doors of the entry. NIV 17 the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; RHE 18 The pins of the tabernacle, and of the court, with their little cords: NIV 18 the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes; RHE 19 The vestments that are to be used in the ministry of the sanctuary, the vesture of Aaron the high priest, and of his sons, to do the office of priesthood to me. NIV 19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary--both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests." RHE 20 And all the multitude of the children of Israel going out from the presence of Moses, NIV 20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence, RHE 21 Offered firstfruits to the Lord with a most ready and devout mind, to make the work of the tabernacle of the testimony. Whatever was necessary to the service and to the holy vestments, NIV 21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. RHE 22 Both men and women gave bracelets and earrings, rings and tablets: every vessel of gold was set aside to be offered to the Lord. NIV 22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD. RHE 23 If any man had violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, fine linen and goats’ hair, ram skins dyed red, and violet coloured skins, NIV 23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or hides of sea cows brought them. RHE 24 Metal of silver and brass, they offered it to the Lord, and setim wood for divers uses. NIV 24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it. RHE 25 The skilful women also gave such things as they had spun, violet, purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, NIV 25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun--blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen. RHE 26 And goats’ hair, giving all of their own accord. NIV 26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair. RHE 27 But the princes offered onyx stones, and precious stones, for the ephod and the rational, NIV 27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. RHE 28 And spices and oil for the lights, and for the preparing of ointment, and to make the incense of most sweet savour. NIV 28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. RHE 29 All, both men and women, with devout mind offered gifts, that the works might be done which the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses. All the children of Israel dedicated voluntary offerings to the Lord. NIV 29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do. RHE 30 And Moses said to the children of Israel: Behold, the Lord hath called by name Beseleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Juda, NIV 30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, RHE 31 And hath filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding, and knowledge, and all learning, NIV 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-- RHE 32 To devise and to work in gold and silver and brass, NIV 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, RHE 33 And in engraving stones, and in carpenters’ work. Whatsoever can be devised artificially, NIV 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. RHE 34 He hath given in his heart: Ooliab also, the son of Achisamech, of the tribe of Dan: NIV 34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. RHE 35 Both of them hath he instructed with wisdom, to do carpenters’ work, and tapestry, and embroidery in blue and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, and to weave all things, and to invent all new things. NIV 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them master craftsmen and designers.
