Hebrews 9:1-6

MSG 1 That first plan contained directions for worship, and a specially designed place of worship. NIV 1 Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. MSG 2 A large outer tent was set up. The lampstand, the table, and "the bread of presence" were placed in it. This was called "the Holy Place." NIV 2 A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. MSG 3 Then a curtain was stretched, and behind it a smaller, inside tent set up. This was called "the Holy of Holies." NIV 3 Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, MSG 4 In it were placed the gold incense altar and the gold-covered ark of the covenant containing the gold urn of manna, Aaron's rod that budded, the covenant tablets, NIV 4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. MSG 5 and the angel-wing-shadowed mercy seat. But we don't have time to comment on these now. NIV 5 Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now. MSG 6 After this was set up, the priests went about their duties in the large tent. NIV 6 When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry.
