NIV 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. NLT 4 Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. NIV 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. NLT 5 The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. NLT 9 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was going to come into the world. NIV 9 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. NLT 10 But although the world was made through him, the world didn't recognize him when he came. NIV 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. NLT 11 Even in his own land and among his own people, he was not accepted. NIV 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. NLT 12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. NIV 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--
