HNV 1 Now after these things the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two before his face into every city and place, where he himself was about to come. NIV 1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. HNV 2 Then he said to them, "The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest. NIV 2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. HNV 3 Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. NIV 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. HNV 4 Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way. NIV 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. HNV 5 Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Shalom be to this house.' NIV 5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' HNV 6 If a son of shalom is there, your shalom will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. NIV 6 If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.
