Proverbs 8

CEB 1 Doesn't Wisdom cry out and Understanding shout? NIV 1 Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? CEB 2 Atop the heights along the path, at the crossroads she takes her stand. NIV 2 On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; CEB 3 By the gate before the city, at the entrances she shouts: NIV 3 beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud: CEB 4 I cry out to you, people; my voice goes out to all of humanity. NIV 4 "To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. CEB 5 Understand skill, you who are naive. Take this to heart, you fools. NIV 5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding. CEB 6 Listen, for I speak things that are correct; from my lips comes what is right. NIV 6 Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. CEB 7 My mouth utters the truth; my lips despise wickedness. NIV 7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. CEB 8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; nothing in them is twisted or crooked. NIV 8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse. CEB 9 All of them are straightforward to those who understand, and upright for the knowledgeable. NIV 9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have knowledge. CEB 10 Take my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold. NIV 10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, CEB 11 Wisdom is better than pearls; nothing is more delightful than she. NIV 11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. CEB 12 I, Wisdom, dwell with prudence; I have found knowledge and discretion. CEB 18 Riches and honor are with me, as well as enduring wealth and righteousness. NIV 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. CEB 19 My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold; my crops are better than choice silver. NIV 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. CEB 20 I walk on the way of righteousness, on the paths of justice, NIV 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, CEB 21 to provide for those who love me and to fill up their treasuries. NIV 31 rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind. CEB 32 Now children, listen to me: Happy are those who keep to my ways! NIV 32 "Now then, my sons, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. CEB 33 Listen to instruction, and be wise; don't avoid it. NIV 33 Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. CEB 34 Happy are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorposts. NIV 34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. CEB 35 Those who find me find life; they gain favor from the LORD. NIV 35 For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. CEB 36 Those who offend me injure themselves; all those who hate me love death. NIV 36 But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death."
