Psalm 11

CJB 1 For the leader. By David: In ADONAI I find refuge. So how can you say to me, "Flee like a bird to the mountains! NIV 1 In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: "Flee like a bird to your mountain. CJB 2 See how the wicked are drawing their bows and setting their arrows on the string, to shoot from the shadows at honest men. NIV 2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart. CJB 3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" NIV 3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do ?" CJB 4 ADONAI is in his holy temple. ADONAI, his throne is in heaven. His eyes see and test humankind. NIV 4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; his eyes examine them. CJB 5 ADONAI tests the righteous; but he hates the wicked and the lover of violence. NIV 5 The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates. CJB 6 He will rain hot coals down on the wicked, fire, sulfur and scorching wind will be what they get to drink. NIV 6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur; a scorching wind will be their lot. CJB 7 For ADONAI is righteous; he loves righteousness; the upright will see his face. NIV 7 For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.
