Psalm 123

RHE 1 (122-1) To thee have I lifted up my eyes, who dwellest in heaven. NIV 1 I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. RHE 2 (122-2) Behold as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters, As the eyes of the handmaid are on the hands of her mistress: so are our eyes unto the Lord our God, until he have mercy on us. NIV 2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy. RHE 3 (122-3) Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: for we are greatly filled with contempt. NIV 3 Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. RHE 4 (122-4) For our soul is greatly filled: we are a reproach to the rich, and contempt to the proud. NIV 4 We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant.
