Psalm 132

YLT 1 A Song of the Ascents. Remember, Jehovah, for David, all his afflictions. NIV 1 O LORD, remember David and all the hardships he endured. YLT 2 Who hath sworn to Jehovah. He hath vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: NIV 2 He swore an oath to the LORD and made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: YLT 3 `If I enter into the tent of my house, If I go up on the couch of my bed, NIV 3 "I will not enter my house or go to my bed-- YLT 4 If I give sleep to mine eyes, To mine eyelids -- slumber, NIV 4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes, no slumber to my eyelids, YLT 5 Till I do find a place for Jehovah, Tabernacles for the Mighty One of Jacob. NIV 5 till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." YLT 6 `Lo, we have heard it in Ephratah, We have found it in the fields of the forest. NIV 6 We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar: YLT 7 We come in to His tabernacles, We bow ourselves at His footstool. NIV 7 "Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool-- YLT 8 Arise, O Jehovah, to Thy rest, Thou, and the ark of Thy strength, NIV 8 arise, O LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. YLT 9 Thy priests do put on righteousness, And Thy pious ones cry aloud. NIV 9 May your priests be clothed with righteousness; may your saints sing for joy." YLT 10 For the sake of David Thy servant, Turn not back the face of Thine anointed. NIV 10 For the sake of David your servant, do not reject your anointed one. YLT 11 Jehovah hath sworn truth to David, He turneth not back from it: Of the fruit of thy body, I set on the throne for thee. NIV 11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath that he will not revoke: "One of your own descendants I will place on your throne-- YLT 12 If thy sons keep My covenant, And My testimonies that I teach them, Their sons also for ever and ever, Do sit on the throne for thee. NIV 12 if your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever." YLT 13 For Jehovah hath fixed on Zion, He hath desired [it] for a seat to Himself, NIV 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling: YLT 14 This [is] My rest for ever and ever, Here do I sit, for I have desired it. NIV 14 "This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it-- YLT 15 Her provision I greatly bless, Her needy ones I satisfy [with] bread, NIV 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food. YLT 16 And her priests I clothe [with] salvation, And her pious ones do sing aloud. NIV 16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for joy. YLT 17 There I cause to spring up a horn for David, I have arranged a lamp for Mine anointed. NIV 17 "Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one. YLT 18 His enemies I do clothe [with] shame, And upon him doth his crown flourish! NIV 18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on his head will be resplendent."
