Psalm 135

YLT 1 Praise ye Jah! Praise ye the name of Jehovah, Praise, ye servants of Jehovah, NIV 1 Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; praise him, you servants of the LORD, YLT 2 Who are standing in the house of Jehovah, In the courts of the house of our God. NIV 2 you who minister in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. YLT 3 Praise ye Jah! for Jehovah [is] good, Sing praise to His name, for [it is] pleasant. NIV 3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. YLT 4 For Jacob hath Jah chosen for Himself, Israel for His peculiar treasure. NIV 4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession. YLT 5 For I have known that great [is] Jehovah, Yea, our Lord [is] above all gods. NIV 5 I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. YLT 6 All that Jehovah pleased He hath done, In the heavens and in earth, In the seas and all deep places, NIV 6 The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. YLT 7 Causing vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, Lightnings for the rain He hath made, Bringing forth wind from His treasures. NIV 7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses. YLT 8 Who smote the first-born of Egypt, From man unto beast. NIV 8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn of men and animals. YLT 9 He sent tokens and wonders into thy midst, O Egypt, On Pharaoh and on all his servants. NIV 9 He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. YLT 10 Who smote many nations, and slew strong kings, NIV 10 He struck down many nations and killed mighty kings-- YLT 11 Even Sihon king of the Amorite, And Og king of Bashan, And all kingdoms of Canaan. NIV 11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan and all the kings of Canaan-- YLT 12 And He gave their land an inheritance, An inheritance to Israel His people, NIV 12 and he gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel. YLT 13 O Jehovah, Thy name [is] to the age, O Jehovah, Thy memorial to all generations. NIV 13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever, your renown, O LORD, through all generations. YLT 14 For Jehovah doth judge His people, And for His servants comforteth Himself. NIV 14 For the LORD will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants. YLT 15 The idols of the nations [are] silver and gold, Work of the hands of man. NIV 15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. YLT 16 A mouth they have, and they speak not, Eyes they have, and they see not, NIV 16 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; YLT 17 Ears they have, and they give not ear, Nose -- there is no breath in their mouth! NIV 17 they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. YLT 18 Like them are their makers, Every one who is trusting in them. NIV 18 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. YLT 19 O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah, O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah, NIV 19 O house of Israel, praise the LORD; O house of Aaron, praise the LORD; YLT 20 O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah, Those fearing Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah. NIV 20 O house of Levi, praise the LORD; you who fear him, praise the LORD. YLT 21 Blessed [is] Jehovah from Zion, Inhabiting Jerusalem -- praise ye Jah! NIV 21 Praise be to the LORD from Zion, to him who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.
